Are there any good getting started guides for newbies?

I get the basics... fly around and pew pew pew.

But, specifically, are there any guides that explain the research system?
Or maybe strategies for bozeman galaxy?

I'm actually putting together a Steam Guide FAQ right now. I'll be covering the basics of research in it. I'll be posting it later today.
