Aim Controls
Hi I just got this game; I'm not great at flying games in general, but I was so intrigued by the whole "based on a novel" thing, and right away I was impressed by the opening sequence, I thought the head-chip had a lot of character and I was totally sold on trying to get through,
But I really was thrown by the controls once I started flying. I tried it both with the xbox 360 controller and the keyboard, but neither really worked like my brain was expecting them to. It mentioned to go into the options and go to game and - I don't remember the exact prompt, but it led me to believe that there was a choice of how to set up the aiming style. I found a slider for something like aiming speed, but no way to change the controls, other than remapping the keys on the keyboard setting.
So, did I misread the intent, and there is only one way to control the ship but you can change the sensitivity is all, or is there a second control scheme, and I just couldn't find how to access it? I was hoping to switch over to something where joystick left made the ship Move left, not rotate left.
If that's just the only way to control the ship, I'll just put this game on the shelf for a while, and come back when I have time to tackle the controls; wouldn't be the first time I've had to put off playing a game because I couldn't do what the designer was asking of me

Re: Aim Controls
Oh no, anything but that! Here, let me just jump into the game and find the exact position of the controls...
It's under the Game Tab in options, just underneath the Sliders and the difficulty setting. Something called Primary Control. Then, underneath that, is the Aim Mode setting. Fiddle with both of these.
I personally prefer direct controls, used with a Mouse and Keyboard. For archetype abilities, you will need to press an archetype modifier button (rebindable) to execute them with the mouse.
I'm not familiar with the controller aim modes, but I assume direct is the best way to go there.

Re: Aim Controls
The closest thing to what your asking would be the "Direct/Mouse" mode under Aim Mode in the the Game Tab of the Options Menu. This would aim your ship in the direction of the left joystick, but you would still have to apply thrust in order to get moving. You will have to scroll down in the Game tab of the options menu a tiny bit. If you are using a gamepad, use the right stick to scroll UI elements. Hope this helps.

I understand why I didn't see that before, when I went down that menu, and got to the bottom of the visible options, it doesn't begin to scroll if you hit down, it jumps to the back button. So I assumed that I was at the end of the list. I didn't realize that the small thin blue bar on the right was a scroll bar until I did as you instructed and scrolled down using the right control stick. I did notice that the stick is listed as scrolling through UI when the game launches and has a screenshot of the controller and all of the things it does; I didn't however notice it until you told me to look for it.
I tried this mode out and I had no problems with it, it worked great this way with the mouse too.
Thanks for telling me where the scroll bug was so I could find the option

Re: Aim Controls
How many more tooltips do the devs have to add before people realize they can SCROLL?
It drives me insane.

Re: Aim Controls
Well, it only takes a Nero to replace every tooltip.
