Recording Software
Anyone know of any good free recording software I can get my hands on? I want to make some recordings of me playing.

Re: Recording Software
I am using xsplit. I also have a program called playclaw but it seemed to slow the game down a bit.
Xsplit has a free and paid version. The pay version allows bigger resolutions (for streaming and recording).
I hope you have a good PC.

Well in the case of performance I don't think you can get anything better than Fraps for free, at least not any programs that I know of.
But if you're willing you can always try Bandicam, I haven't tried it but Syther uses it and seems to like it better than Fraps

Re: Recording Software
what software to use depends on what kind of pc you have:
1) if you have alot of ram fraps an be the better choice
2) if you have a killer cpu then playclaw is awsome as it can on some systems record full hd 60 fps with no fps drop but you pretty much need a i7 to do so. the problems with playclaw is its not that stable.
3) if youi hae multiple hard disk or good ssd's bandicam works very well and is as stable as fraps
4) action! is a intresting choice as it overall on some systems can be faster in every way to fraps but it has alot of bugs i would be using it if it was not because the ui is so buged it is unusable on my pc but i would recommend trying the trial to see if it works
none of the software i just mentioned are free but some if not all have a trial or free version so you may want to try all of them to see what works best i personaly use bandicam as its the only one of the mentioned software that i have yet to experience any problems with (well fraps work but it have a smaller feature set then bandicam and worse preformance) and the price on it is not too bad
