Demo Patch Notes

Patch Notes for 2.25.13:

  • New Environment: SPACE CITY Still a work in progress, we're happy to open up this exciting new environment for you to explore and do battle in. Expect more signs, marquees, and construction pieces in the future. We'll also be introducing a new game mechanic, which deals with a certain piece of advice Solipso once told you...
  • New Shop Interface We've added a new background for the shop as well as optimized some of the interfacing. We will continue to optimize the shop, so give us your feedback on what you'd like to see!
  • New Music Thanks to your backing, we've been able to expand our soundtrack. We hope to add yet another song before it is completed.
  • New Equipment and Abilities We're continuing to add variety and customization with increased Veterancy and Corona equipment.
  • Bug Fixes and Pathing Improvements


Multiplayer Beta is live and subject to frequent patches. The game will auto-update on launch. If you experience problems downloading the game, wait a few minutes and try again; we are likely uploading a new patch.

As of version 9.0.6, crashes are logged in a text file, which is saved under ..Documents/SavedGames/RingRunner/RingRunner/AllPlayers... The file name is CrashLog with the time and date appended to the end of it. Please forward that file and a short description of what you were doing when the crash occurred to RRCrashReport@gmail.com Exclamation

Demo version 0.8.0.5 Patch notes (11-3-2012):
  • Added "Break" Subrostrum Mini-Game - To try this "Breakout"-inspired game, choose "Mission Select" from the Single-Player menu and navigate to the Subrostrum Arcade node. In the full release version of Ring Runner, there will be several mini-games available for play here. Beating these games will unlock new Sage abilities that are usable in all other game modes!
  • Fixed numerous bugs.
  • Revised graphics.
  • Added new messages to several missions for clarity.


Demo version 0.8.0.4 Patch notes (10-28-2012):
  • Plex Power Ups - Now every power-up has a chance to be a Plex bonus. These bonuses are color-coded according to how much Plex they will yield.
  • Numerous UI enhancements.
  • Added first-time help messages to the Hangar and Shop.


Demo version 0.8.0.3 Patch notes (10-23-2012):
  • Introducing Research! - You can now research new hulls or new items for your favorite node in real-time. The Laboratory is accessible through the Shop in the Main Menu. Research progress continues even when you're not playing, and multiple research instructions can be queued. You can also rush production by paying with Plex, or you can "rent" out your Laboratory to generate an income of Plex instead of researching new equipment. This is a very useful feature, so be sure to take advantage of it early on!
  • Added new equipment and several new abilities!
  • Minor graphical and mechanic adjustments.


Demo version 0.8.0.2 Patch notes (10-14-2012):

  • Enhanced AI - The AI will respond better to non-projectile damage sources like lasers, melee abilities, and cone-based abilities.
  • New Equipment - Dozens of new mods added for increased customization
  • Sonar - Outlines the exact collision of objects for improved clarity. This feature can be activated in the "Video" tab of the Options Menu.
  • Difficulty Adjustment - Tweaked the difficulties of the various game modes.


Demo version 0.8.0.1 Patch notes (10-8-2012):

  • Introducing the new Gladiator Mode: Go one-on-one against increasingly difficult, boss-like opponents. Can you defeat all 16? Be warned: these opponents are able to use any of the game's 300+ abilities against you!
  • Revamped the Wave Mode: The difficulty has been modified and we've added different wave types: Swarm, Normal, and Boss.
  • Numerous Graphical Upgrades to Various Abilities
  • New Sage Ability: Sage Wave, capable of pushing opponents, objects, and projectiles across the entire screen.
  • Added new Sound Quality Options in the Audio Tab of the Menu - lowering this setting can improve performance


Demo version 0.8.0.0 Patch notes (10-2-2012):

  • Mouse-aim control scheme added (Under Options>Game>Aim Mode, select Direct/Mouse)
  • Increased Graphical Options for Greater Compatibility (Resolution/Anti-aliasing/Windowed Mode)
  • Mouse trail optional
  • Particle Effect Updates to several skills
  • Difficulty adjustments to several levels

You will have to uninstall your existing version of the game, before installing the new one. However, saved files are kept, so you won't lose your progress.

*NOTE* If you're having difficulty with the demo download page, try manually refreshing/reloading the page.

Any chance you'll be switching to a better installer sometime soon, The current one is nothing short of a pain. I've not been able to get it to install <.<

What problem are you experiencing? Maybe we could help you out! Once the current installer does work, it's pretty convenient -- it even automatically updates.

The most obv issue I have with it, is it times out before it can install on every attempt.

I'd not kill yourself over my issue tho. I won't be happy till it is a stand alone installer that does not use any external services.
