Why did valkaros activate valkarian protocol only once? *possible spoiler*

Hello everyone,

I'm thrilled to learn about the Ring Runner universe recently and I'm especially fascinated by the story. As I tend to play a game for its story, excuse me if I don't mention the gameplay much~ Needless to say, the Dryere family has done a remarkable job, practically everything.

So, from the plot point of view, valkaros could have just stopped the nameless sage with the "fail-safe" hidden in nero. Why did he only use it once?

Valkaros is a curious guy. And all-powerful entities like playing god, and if they're curious, they take risks in doing so. He wanted to see how far you get in your attempts to defy him. He then decided that you've gotten far enough, and takes control back. "Enough of this nonsense", like. And then it doesn't work. And he knows that it won't work if he tries again. He's not insane. And then he has to defeat you in single combat, and fails horribly.

I mean, I really gotta say, Valkaros is bad at fighting. Taking him down is easy. I don't even need the Macro. I don't even need the bonus health.

So...basically Valkarian protocol only works once. I can understand when sometimes plot has to bend for the gameplay. But as smooth as the game goes so far, it's just not consistent. Because if it only works once then Nero won't need to apologize for not being trust worthy anymore and the Nameless Sage wouldn't say he couldn't trust himself as long as Valkaros lives.

BTW, I agree that Valkaros is not really a hard to defeat boss, but the atmosphere is consistent and nicely rendered.

You see, you didn't have the Solipso-in-a-can when it was activated for the first time. And Valkaros didn't want to activate it again afterwards because it'd ruin his fun. Until you get to the base, and by then Valkaros realizes that this will no longer stop you.

Alright, I think I'm getting the picture that Valkaros made an unforeseeable mistake.

But this leads to:
1. What happened to Solipso and Solipso's thread?
2. How did Solipso-in-a-can void the "fail-safe"?
3. What's with that awesome new Sage ability?
4. The Nameless Sage seems changed afterwards, specifically the "quotes". What happened to him/her?
5. Nero said:"Fine. I'll give it to ya under one condition..." What does "it" refer to?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions~just some enthusiasms.

I thought he used it twice. Once to make you kill Solipso, and a second time when you show up at Valkaros' base. Solipso's thread intervenes and the protocol is rendered useless against you.

That wasn't the question. He did use it twice, but the logic was, why did Valkaros let him get away with killing a bunch of stuff. A question we have already answered here.
