Best Rings in the Rings

Post  Dead Parrot on Tue Nov 26, 2013 3:54 pm

Anyone got any tips on completing this mission? I've been stuck on this one mission for far too long and it's frustrating as all hell.

Sage difficulty with my F5G Lupine and I always run out of time. Most I've managed to destroy is 2 of the transports and I refuse to lower the difficulty any further.

Also tried it in a D5F Wolf Angel and D5C Mont Azul those ships don't suit my style at all. Got killed awful quick when I tried flying em.

You can always skip a mission from the failure screen if you want to continue on with the story. The Greasehaven galaxy is an optional galaxy, so you can complete the game without completing it.

As for beating it, I'm not sure there is any special trick I can suggest. You need to make sure your build has high enough DPS to down the cruisers in time of course. I usually use Gamma Hammer and Featherfire Cannon when I am playing a Lupine. You could try running Death Blossom in your agile drive to take out shield generators quickly, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Finally did it.
Tactics I used for doing it.
Drilling Beam, Luminade and The Big Bangerang for speedy take down of the cruisers since they all damage the turrets even with the big shield up. Repel Tethers to keep the fighters away whilst attacking the cruisers. Have ace drive equiped and on the first cruiser take down all other ships before even attacking it, this will give you the boost in refire needed to get your DPS high enough to take down the cruisers quick enough.

Thanks for the advice on the featherfire cannon I bought one and it allowed me to take down the other ships quick enough to assault the cruisers, couldn't find/afford the research for the Gamma Hammer yet. I was attempting with the Mercurial... because it's the only fixed cannon I had at that point.

Nice, that is a clever build for that mission. Smile
