Bug Report, and Feature Suggestion
First congrats for getting Greenlit, you guys totally deserved that.
Now for the feedback
1. In zombie survival, if my ship does not have left mouse button bound, I get to keep the super sage ability forever once I get it. I tested this with a Rogue and ship. Got to more than 4000 zombies killed . It's hilarious.
2. Is it possible to bind multiple abilities to the same button? I wanna design a ship with many weapons, but mashing more than 5 buttons at once is not very fun. If I could bind some abilities to the same button that would open up many possibilities for ship design (solo Duo ships with tons of rockets for example).

Re: Bug Report, and Feature Suggestion
1. OMG SO OP FIX PLS
2. I don't think you can do that, unless you work via Macro keys (configured with some keyboards) that actually input multiple keys at the same time. And considering that a lot of abilities trigger Global Mini-cooldowns (depending on the cooldown of the ability used, that cooldown can last around 0-1 seconds) pressing multiple buttons at the same time isn't advisable anyways.

Thanks!
Yikes, need to fix that zombie mode glitch. Unfortunately, we just patched so it will have to be in the next one.
As for multiple abilities being bound to a single button, I can see the argument for it. We decided early on not to allow it to avoid people playing one button builds. At this point, quite a bit of things would have to be reworked to allow for it. I'm just not sure if it would be for the better or not.

Yes, I remember arguing with you about not being able to have more than two low-cooldown independent abilities (neither triggering global cooldown) active at a time. And you said that it'd result in you just spamming everything at the same time, and I though, "isn't that what you do all the time anyway?"
So yeah, I have one ship with 13 different abilities on it that I have to activate, and I'd certainly like some of them to activate together, even though I'm satisfied with the current state of affairs!

I'll definitely think about it some more.

Re: Bug Report, and Feature Suggestion
Thanks for the replies. As for the one button binding thing, my reasoning is that mashing one button isn't strategically different than mashing 5 buttons. Of course it's not super important if there are technical limitations.
btw, as of right now I have a 0 button build that does pretty well in survival. I afk'ed in Flooded Gate Zombie Survival and got 570 zombies killed, and it can afk beat wave survival on that difficulty too XD

I don't know how you feel about 3rd party macro apps, but AutoHotKey and AutoIt are both languages that may help you here. You can intercept single inputs (or even strings) and replace them with whatever input you want, so you could easily bind multiple abilities to any button you want. You can write whole programs in these languages if you want to, but input-replacing is the simplest & most common task they're used for.EvilNinjadude wrote:So yeah, I have one ship with 13 different abilities on it that I have to activate, and I'd certainly like some of them to activate together, even though I'm satisfied with the current state of affairs!
I'm not sure how they'll interact with RR; sometimes game engines pick up inputs at the same low level that AHK operates at and the input goes through as well as AHK's replacement input, so you'd be better off intercepting button presses that aren't bound to anything in RR.
EDIT: Would it be bad if I were to try out the zombie exploit for myself?

I don't think it matters. This is not WoW or LoL or TF2 or something. If someone cheats it doesn't really affect other players or the devs. Unless they are trolling multiplayer games with that, then that's kinda assholeExcrubulent wrote:

Zombie survival is co-op only, fortunately.Mercurius wrote:I don't think it matters. This is not WoW or LoL or TF2 or something. If someone cheats it doesn't really affect other players or the devs. Unless they are trolling multiplayer games with that, then that's kinda assholeExcrubulent wrote:

Yeah it really isn't a big deal. I've fixed it for the next patch, which will go out along with the Steam release of the game.
