What does Steam mean for Ring Runner?

Aside from financial considerations, making it onto Steam is important because Ring Runner is a multiplayer game. Steam's match-making services will make playing with friends easy and the larger player base will help to ensure that there's always someone to play with.

Seriously though, this game looks so awesome that I don't see how it could NOT end up on Steam....

Oh, I already voted. Worse games than this have ended up on Steam, (no offense, this game is brilliant) so I would be VERY surprised should this fail.

Voted as well, but one question comes to mind.

If it is greenlighted, will backers receive the option to get the steam key in addition, or rather than, the DRM free version you'll offer from a direct download? Probably a silly question to ask, but curious none the less.

That is a good question, and it all depends on Steam. If we should be Greenlit before the release, which is unlikely but possible, then we'll give our backers a choice. If you've already received a DRM-free version but would like to play on Steam, then it will just depend on how much it would cost us to provide you with a copy. Having to purchase it would mean losing ~30% on each copy, but if we can give keys out for free, we'll definitely provide them for all of our interested backers. If we don't get the keys, I'm sure we'll be able to work something out for you.

Well, I can't surpass good news of this magnitude. But I can tell you that on TotalBiscuit's Desktop, there's the Ring Runner launch Icon. Meaning he still has it installed, and will hopefully finish his WTF is soon!

He did a tour of his new office, and a look at his own Desktop. There was many games there, and Ring Runner briefly popped up in a corner. See for yerself.
