Base fight AI is beyond retarded

Seriously, I was in a attempt, at first thinking that I sucked...

But after two hours (yes, two hours trying to fucking win the match, I am feeling pain in several muscles even and decided to quit!) I noticed that whatever team win a fight, just retreat.

After TWO HOURS the enemy base was half dead, almost all the damage was collateral (ie: during a fight we got close to the enemy base and kicked its ass), only the shield turrets I killed earlier with suicide attacks. And my base was fully intact.

Seriously, it is IMPOSSIBLE to win a match, unless you have beyond godlike skills yourself and can handle the base and the entire enemy team by yourself, because your allies just stand basking in the sun in your own base waiting for the enemy for respawn (and the enemy do the same...)

It is fucking boring!

EDIT: this only apply to "player" AI, drones attacked enemy bases mindlessy and died happily.

We are addressing this next patch, the SDL mode is still in beta, so it has some pretty rough edges atm. The AI is already much better, but I'm still working on it a bit more. The AI command system will also be much improved. So you will be able to tell your AI allies to be more aggressive/defensive, which target to attack and to follow you.

These AI improvements will be passed on to the Spire Battle as well.

Yeah, I figured. Smile The changes will effect both modes, you can already give commands to your AI companions, using the F1-F4 keys, but I'm working on improving their response.

What do you mean you can't take on the enemy base and all its ships yourself? That's silly. In my ship, I have to pull the difficulty WAY up if I want the enemy to have a chance of driving me off once I get in there.

To be fair my ships are excellent for PvE as they most often exploit the AI's weak points. If I fight players it's usually a completely different experience. *cough*aratex*cough*

Is the Wyveros nerfed yet?

EvilNinja dude can you defeat the enemy spire and all enemy AI ships with only the first pre-built ships of each archetype?

I play on Sage mostly.

Although for the Moba it seems too easy to win on Sage...

And some single player bosses I could not kill without rookie (but I guess it has more to do with not having decent controls than anything...)

Right. So since there's no way to tell the AI what to do, and the AI just gets killed on higher difficulties if I don't participate, I'm just going to attack and turn the difficulty up. Current progress:
Arsenal: Flooded Gate
Fighter: Union (easy as hell)
Rogue: Union (also easy as hell)
Grappler: Union (a bit of challenge)
Caster: In progress.

So yeah. I got the most kills and became MVP in all four of my games.

And you should come try Space Defense League on Union, it really isn't harder to win, it's just harder to kill and easier to die.

Space Defense League is going to become quite a bit harder with the new AI, though your allies will benefit from it as well, so it will balance out in single player. Smile

I haven't yet had a chance to ask what effect difficulty has on your Allies. I noticed that when I set the difficulty to Rookie and did nothing, my team would quickly gain the upper hand, while with the difficulty at Union, my lack of activity quickly cost us our towers, one after the other.

So? How are allies affected by difficulty?

Allies are effected by difficulty the same way you are, though less pronounced.

I see.

Anyway, finished mission with Orb-it. Once you get enough haste and mitigation it's easy, but I hate fighting Arsenals because their Nemesis retaliation array can find you anywhere on your map as soon as they're being hit by projectiles. I had a case where I died to Nemesis retaliation, respawned a split second later, and DIED AGAIN because my comet was still around wearing him down.

I think that ability should kinda be nerfed.
